If you want to make your own loom, you need a wooden frame made from four pieces of wood 1/4 or 1/2 inch thick and a box of 1/2-inch wire brads (thin, small-headed nails) on the top of the frame use a ruler to draw lines about 1/2 inch from the inner edge. Hammer Brads, about 1/8 inch apart, partly into the wood, on the lines. Do not put brads on the corners.
The thread or yarn you use on your first project should be easy to work with. Heavy wool, colored cord, and gimp (colorful plastic cord) are excellent materials. Less expensive but equally suitable is roughly textured rope. If you use rope, choose two different kind with varying texture and color.
